We know because we have been where you are.
We at Ventura Recovery Center are in recovery too, so we know what it takes to achieve long term sobriety. We have years of experience helping others combat alcoholism. Time spent in our inpatient alcohol rehab center can save your life, restore your family and liberate you from the ruthless cycle of addiction. Our expertise and support can pave the way to a new life for you and your family.
If you develop craving after your first drink and cannot stop you may be addicted to alcohol. Also, if you try to abstain from drinking (not drink at all) but cannot, you may be an alcoholic.
The important thing to remember is there is nothing to be ashamed of. Environmental factors like stress and cultural or family dynamics can lead to alcoholism. It is also believed that genetics can be a factor. If your parents or siblings have a drinking problem, you are 3 to 4 times more likely to develop alcoholism as well.
No one wakes up and decides to become an alcoholic. But you can wake up and decide to do something about your alcoholism. Admitting that you have a drinking problem and seeking alcohol rehab treatment is a sign of strength. Call us now, we have been where you are. At Ventura Recovery Center, our staff is in recovery as well. We picked up the phone and asked for help and we are glad we did.
Alcoholism is a complex, chronic disease. That means alcohol treatment needs to address both the physical and psychological causes and effects. Professional treatment is often necessary to counteract the effects of long term alcohol abuse.
Alcohol detox is the first vital step towards controlling alcoholism. Medical supervision during alcohol detoxification is extremely essential, because the symptoms of withdrawal can be perilous.
At Ventura Recovery Center we offer the best comprehensive alcohol detox program suited to your individual needs. Our detoxification program ensures therapeutic removal of toxic materials mainly carried out by the liver. The process is a medically administered period of alcohol withdrawal and much-needed rest. Through this phase, our health experts and doctors administer the right dosage of medication while clinical staff provides therapy and counseling to address psychological issues. As the body is allowed to heal and renew, so too the emotional strains of addiction begin to be lifted.
The good news is that no matter how severe the problem may seem, most people with an alcohol use disorder can benefit from some form of treatment.
Successful alcohol treatment continues after the detox phase. Our counseling staff focuses on giving you the emotional tools you need to GET YOUR LIFE BACK. You learn to make positive choices that foster personal growth and responsibility. Ventura Recovery Center is the best alcohol treatment center in the Los Angeles area. Our highly trained, caring staff provides you with more than just the basics. We prepare you to face the challenges that come with normal living with dignity and strength…sober. We teach you how to heal your family and personal relationships and give you coping tools you can use in any situation.
At Ventura Recovery Center we are proud of the fact that a significant number of our clients who complete our 90 day program remain clean and sober. Unlike many addiction treatment facilities, we offer our clients the chance to stay 90 days, 120 days, even longer. Long term treatment is proven to work. That’s why many of our clients choose long term options. After treatment, they go on to live life without the chaos that drugs and alcohol caused them or their loved ones.
Also, we boast one of the largest sober communities in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County. We have a very active alumni community. Often, our clients decide to stay in the Thousand Oaks area after treatment. We have monthly alumni meetings where our clients can come together and share each others’ strength and hope in recovery. We are a family. When you come to stay with us, you become a part of our family too.
Addiction is a horrible disease. Watching your close friend struggle, and not being able to help them is hard… But what’s even harder is getting them into a treatment program that will turn their lives around for the better. This is exactly what Ventura Recovery Center did for us. Their intake process was quick and they gave me a call back right away to let me know they can admit her the same day. Thank you Robert for your help and phone support. Truly a wonderful place that helps people get their loved ones back.

Alcoholism can” affect all parts of the body but particularly affects the brain, heart, liver, pancreas, and immune system. This can result in mental illness, Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome, an irregular heart beat, liver failure, and an increase in the risk of cancer, among other diseases. Drinking during pregnancy can cause damage to the baby resulting in fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. Generally women are more sensitive to alcohol’s harmful physical and mental effects than men.”
“Alcohol’s Effects on the Body”. Retrieved 9 May2015.
A person is introduced to alcohol (in some cultures this can happen at a relatively young age), and the person enjoys the happy feeling it produces. At this stage there is no emotional cost.
A person will drink to regain that feeling of euphoria experienced in phase 1; the drinking will increase as more intoxication is required to achieve the same effect. Again at this stage, there are no significant consequences.
There are physical and social consequences, i.e., hangovers, family problems, work problems, etc. A person will continue to drink excessively, disregarding the problems.
Highly detrimental stage with a risk for premature death. As a person now drinks to feel normal, they block out the feelings of overwhelming guilt, remorse, anxiety, and shame they experience when sober.
As you can see, alcoholism is much more than just drinking too much. It is a chronic disease that destroys the body and the mind. It destroys families and dreams. It does not listen to reason. Often, no matter how dire the consequences, the alcoholic just cannot stop drinking. The good news is that much of the damage of prolonged drinking can be repaired. Families can come back together. Health can be regained. There is hope.
