Veteran Recovery Program: Specialized Addiction Treatment for Military Veterans

Program Description

The Veteran Recovery Program at Ventura Recovery Center is a specialized substance use treatment track designed to meet the unique needs of U.S. military veterans. Rooted in trauma-informed, evidence-based practices, this program combines addiction recovery with an understanding of military culture, service-related trauma, and the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life.

Veterans in our program often experience co-occurring disorders such as PTSD, moral injury, chronic pain, traumatic brain injury (TBI), depression, and anxiety. Our holistic, integrated approach addresses these concerns within a safe and structured environment that honors the values of integrity, service, and camaraderie.

Key Components

1.

Trauma-Informed Clinical Care

2.

Veteran-Specific Groups

Group sessions focusing on PTSD and substance use, addressing guilt, shame, and strategies for rebuilding trust and self-worth.

3.

Peer Support & Brotherhood

Veteran-led group therapy and peer mentorship that fosters mutual respect, understanding, and camaraderie through shared military experience.
